Description

Mikes Pool Hall, San Francisco, 1964. 525 Broadway.

"They served the best burger I'll ever have. Grilled rectangular patty on a fresh toasted and BUTTERED sourdough French roll, garnished with fried onions and sport peppers. It was also famous for its minestrone. It's the "Mike's Place" cited in Lawrence Ferlinghetti's poem "Autobiography.""

Note the "Johnson-Humphrey" presidential campaign signs.
